Dear Shawn Sweeney, Service Manager,
On February 28th, I was driving from St. Louis to Topeka to visit family. As you may recall there was a large snow storm that swept across Missouri that day. I-70 was closed at Booneville due to vehicle crashes and road conditions. I was directed off the interstate and eventually onto Hwy 50. Snow was deep and traffic was bad, so what was usually a quick trip was becoming very arduous. A ways west of Sedalia, roads were clearing and I felt I was on the home stretch into the city until another vehicle stopped short in front of me. To avoid hitting them, I swerved, sending my little Scion XD into a 360 on the highway and into a snow bank. Thankfully I did not hit anyone, nor did anyone hit me. AAA arrived in a timely fashion, pulled me out, and said that the car was ok to drive. As I pulled into traffic I noticed a significant shimmy, as if I was driving on a washboard gravel road.
My Garmin GPS located your dealership as being the closest to my current location. At the point that I called to see if someone would be available on a Saturday to look at my car, it was 2:45pm and I was approximately 12 miles away. The assistant on the phone stated that if I arrived by 3pm there should be no problem getting my car inspected. Because of snow and traffic I arrived about 3:05, but was welcomed into the service area and assured that my car could be taken care of. During my short 45 minute wait, I began to make plans to be picked up, sure that I was going to have to leave the car until Monday to be fixed. To my surprise the service associate came back with my car, stating that the problem was only ice frozen around my wheels and axel after being in the snow bank for an hour earlier. They had defrosted the underneath of my car and I was ok to go, free of charge. The car drove beautifully onto Topeka, and I arrived safely 8 hours after I had left St. Louis.
Although this was an extremely long and inconvenient travel day, the excellent service I received at your dealership was a bright spot in the day. I consider it a blessing to have been in the area and for you to be open and available on a snowy Saturday afternoon. Service such as that can’t be found everywhere, and I truly appreciated it!
